How To Prioritise Your Mental Health In Entrepreneurship With Rebecca Hay

Many in the wellness industry found their calling after a transcendental session with a therapist or counsellor.

Something they had struggled with for years was suddenly given a name and a form.

We’ve all heard the anecdotes, and a lot of us have lived through this. Knowing ourselves better gave us the tools to fight and build a better life for ourselves.

Yet, outside the wellness circle, mental health is rarely given the importance it deserves.

This is why I decided to invite someone who is intimately familiar with the world of therapy and is deeply invested in helping promote popular awareness of mental health issues online.

In today’s episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I’m speaking to psychotherapist, Rebecca Hays about her personal and professional journey into counselling, and why we should strive to normalise mental health conversations in every household.

Interestingly, a robin played a decisive role in helping Rebecca choose her path.

Listen to the full episode, where we talk about:

- why Rebecca began her education as a therapist at age 32

- how external influences tied her to a narcissistic partner until she found the energy to break away

- the importance of finding the right therapist whom you can trust

- why more than 40% of Rebecca’s clients are under 18

- the relief therapy can provide refugees in her experience

Despite much noise about promoting wellness in schools and offices, we’ve largely found that conversations about mental health are either limited or completely absent from daily life in both spaces.

The result of this is people struggling with issues that they don’t know how to deal with. And as Rebecca explains inside the episode, damages to the psyche can begin at a very early age.

It’s my hope that as wellness entrepreneurs, we help bring such conversations into every household so those who need help know how to reach out for it.

After you listen to this episode, drop into my insta DMs and tell me how we can make these discussions more common amongst our clients and audiences.
